Just as an allergist wouldn’t induce anaphylactic shock before treating you, dog trainers do not need to witness the wrong behavior in order to treat it.
Instead, we ask lots of questions to understand what’s happening and determine a plan.
We also don't want your dog getting any better at reacting to other dogs - he's good enough at that already!

Absolutely! Some dogs are reactive on-leash because they are frustrated they cannot interact with the other dogs they see. Trainer Leighann can help your dog learn that other dogs mean Listen instead of Lose It.

Length of training depends on your goals, your dog’s current behavior and how you both, as a team, learn.
Dog training of any kind is never linear, and it’s not uncommon to need to make some adjustments to the plan as we go. Our goals are progress over perfection and making sure you feel confident continuing to take your dog out on your own.
Most clients can expect a total of six Coaching sessions held over eight to ten weeks.

Leighann Hurley founded Koinonia Dogs in 2014 and has been a Certified Professional Dog Trainer in the Austin, TX area since 2019.
She's a problem-solver by nature and loves creating cooperation through conflict-free communication so both ends of the leash enjoy an easier life together.
