In-Home Dog Training for
Better Manners

Less chaos.
More cooperation.

Step #1: Initial Consultation

Start by sharing about your dog and the problem behaviors you need help with. During this meeting, the dog trainer will:

  • ask lots of questions to understand the problems

  • share steps you can take to start getting relief right away

  • provide a follow-up package recommendation

  • Not necessarily! Dog trainers actually work hard to not see him doing the wrong thing. He’s good enough at those behaviors already — he doesn’t need more practice!

Instead, we ask lots of questions to determine what’s going on and what’s needed to create new habits.

Step #2: Coaching Sessions

Follow your Consultation with a series of Coaching sessions to build on initial wins and thoroughly address your goals.

Weekly to bi-weekly sessions combine discussion and hands-on practice as you learn how to get the good manners you want.

The program also includes a treat bag + text and email support between sessions.

Coaching sessions are roughly 60 minutes each; in-person or virtual

  • Most clients can expect four to six follow-up Coaching sessions to ensure both ends of the leash have enough time to learn the new skills needed for good manners.

Total cost for the follow-up Coaching sessions ranges from $500 to $740.
    Payment plans are available.

In-Home Dog Training FAQs

  • Training shouldn’t feel like a part-time job!

In most cases, 10-15 minutes of “homework” once or twice a day is sufficient to see results.

All clients also receive instructions on preventing backsliding and ensuring adequate enrichment to maximize their dog’s progress.

  • We always start in your home with little to no distractions so you and your dog can concentrate. Once you’re experiencing success, we gradually increase the distractions until your dog is Real Life Ready – whatever that looks like for you!

  • Because Leighann’s work is a partnership with you and your dog, and results are a product of all three members, guarantees just aren’t possible.

In fact, as a Certified Professional Dog Trainer, she is actually prohibited from making guarantees about behavior or outcome.

While she cannot make broad guarantees, she can promise some things about herself as your training partner and guide.

    • Kindness – that creates a safe environment for you to bring your doggy concerns and struggles without fear.

    • Honesty – about your dog’s current behavior, your goals, and what it will take to get from here to there.

    • Availability – to answer your questions between sessions so you and your dog make as much progress as quickly as possible.

    • Openness – to refer you to another professional or specialist for concerns outside her expertise
