"I love how accommodating Leighann and her family were to my dogs!  My German shepherd was having a tough time adjusting to a house environment with a lot of people, but Leighann, having the tools on how to manage reactivity, did well!  I love that she has extensive training in her background to deal with a variety of situations concerning dogs.  This makes me feel comfortable and happy to know that my dogs are in good hands anytime they stay with her!  I highly recommend anybody going to her because she is vigilant about making the transition smooth for our dogs in a new environment."

"We were so pleased to board our dogs, Cowboy and Kitty, with Koinonia Dogs Training and Boarding.  Leighann pays great attention to find out about your dogs and to what they are accustomed.  We loved that Leighann and her family opened up their home to our pets.  We had confidence while we were away that they were safe and in good hands."

"Leighann is very easy to work with and was very attentive to our dog.  Prices very reasonable and her dog training skills are an added bonus."

"For our dog, Koinonia is the next best thing to being home with his family.  He just gets to be home with Leighann and her family instead.  This is so much better than a kennel setting or an often-absent petsitter.  Leighann knows how to manage his separation anxiety so that everyone (human and canine) has a great vacation!"

"I stumbled across Koinonia Dogs by accident while on Craigslist trying to reunite lost dogs with their owners in December 2014.  I had recently adopted my first dog in November, and I was putting off finding a place to board my new pet.  Inevitably it was going to happen since I had a business trip planned for March.  I knew a regular kennel was not going to be the best fit given Harper's anxiety and his unknown background since he was brought to the shelter as a stray.

Before even reaching out to Leighann, I had to look up what 'koinonia' meant-- 'it identifies the idealized state of fellowship and unity that should exist within the Christian church, the Body of Christ.'  That put me at ease, knowing that we would at least have similar beliefs.  I marched forward with the meet and greet.

Harper has boarded with Leighann and her family roughly seven times over the past year, and they have been with me through the good times and the hard times.  Harper started having gran mal seizures in April, and Leighann worked with me as I did not want to start him on the medication he was prescribed in June.  I tried eliminating the seizures through a more natural mechanism by modifying his diet since there was a clear link between his seizures and when he last had food.  Unfortunately we lost the seizure battle, and after he had a cluster of gran mal sezirues in September (three within 15 hours), I started to medicate him.  We have been in the clear for gran mal seziures at the time of this writing (December), but he may have had a complex partial seizure on Christmas Day.  We will find out at his next vet appointment since I was able to record part of it.  My point here is that Leighann is willing to work[with] her clients and their boarded dogs to make sure they are safe in every aspect of their lives.

One of the best things about the Hurley household is that your furrkid stays on his routine as close as it can come.  This helps with the transitions between the two households.  Secondly, the one thing I did not realize until the meet and greet was [that] Leighann was a veterinarian technician.  Again, just one more bonus for somebody who has a dog that has a medical history.

I like to keep great things to myself, so writing this review has been a bit bittersweet.  I don't want to compete for Leighann's services.  However, I want Leighann's God-given gift to be used, and her business to be successful.  If you need somebody to watch your dog while you are way on business or on vacation, Leighann and her family would more than welcome you and your pup into their household.  They are truly extended family.

"Ms. Leighann was a blessed answer to a big prayer.  We worried about where to leave our older blind and deaf pug and her business came to mind.  We enjoyed our vacation away without worrying about our Gusgus' needs.  We appreciated her daily updates and pictures.  They really gave us piece of mind.  So thankful!!"

"Leighann has watched our pups for us twice now and each time our crazy, tree climbing, jumping, amazing escape artist has come back much better behaved.  we had such a hard time finding someone we trusted with our pups, but Leighann has made that worry free and enjoyable for us to go on vacation."
